HTSA Technical Excellence 301: Advanced Networking Intensive – Registration Coming
The fourth course in the series, Technical Excellence 301: Advanced Networking Intensive, is designed to educate technicians with a high level of experience on the latest networking technologies and configuration techniques.
Who Should Attend?
Experience Technicians (3+ years experience)
Design Engineers (3+ years experience)
What You Will Learn – Advanced Networking Intensive
As part of the HTSA hands-on Technical Excellence Education Program, this 300-level course will focus on the advanced concepts of IT networking required to support complex residential projects with applications including secure remote access, media over IP, and high-performance WLANs. Participants will receive instruction on topics related to the design, deployment, configuration, verification, and maintenance of the robust network architectures which are becoming common in the integration industry.
Throughout this comprehensive learning, participants will perform scenario-based activities related to common situations which occur on real world projects. These activities, in conjunction with classroom instruction, are designed to enhance the learning experience and support the development of critical job skills modern integration companies are seeking. During the program, under the guidance and instruction of seasoned integrators, learners will utilize job documentation and industry standards to perform advanced configurations such as VLANs, QoS, and a VPN on a network router, managed switch, and access point. They will also perform RF analysis of a WLAN deployment and set up a packet capture in order to work through a root-cause analysis of various network failures in a lab that emulates a residential project environment.
Upon completion of the program, participants should be prepared to accomplish the tasks commonly associated with the design, configuration, and verification of complex residential networked systems.
This course serves to prepare experienced technicians and system designers to become certified as Residential Networking Specialists. At the conclusion of the program, learners will have the opportunity to sit for the CEDIA Residential Networking Specialist certification.
Course materials, including textbooks and lab guides, as well as all necessary tools, will be provided. However, participants will need to bring a laptop, preferably with admin rights to connect and complete lab activities.
