HTSA Members Fired Up for 2017 Fall Conference Filled with Opportunity, Sharing, Celebrating and an Exciting Peek at All-New Special Projects
Besides Toasting a Successful Year, Focus Will Be on Further Accelerating Growth
BARRINGTON, IL, AUGUST 31, 2017: Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA), the nation’s leading hybrid-retail and custom integration buying group, will hold its 2017 Fall Members Conference October 25-27, 2017 at the spectacular InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, the premier luxury hotel in Chicago. Built in 1929, the Intercontinental is a mix of classic history and modern elegance. Situated right on the Chicago Magnificent Mile, attendees have easy access to the finest restaurants, luxury shopping and all the magnificent city has to offer.
Members Fired Up for This Fall Conference
After a strong start to the year, and the recent dramatic announcement of Tom Doherty joining the group to head Special Projects, members are fired up for this Fall event. For HTSA, 2016 was a turnaround year, with popular former member Jon Robbins returning to the group as its Executive Director and charting a new course for the group. That course led to greater momentum and, ultimately, a record year for the organization. And that momentum has continued into 2017, which is shaping up to be even bigger and better – leading members to get fired up for this year’s Fall conference, where they will celebrate their progress, and discuss plans to continue to drive growth through the remainder of 2017 and on into 2018.
Tangible proof of this heightened member enthusiasm is the fact that each of the last three member conferences have seen their attendance numbers grow to record levels. In fact, as a result of this growth, HTSA was forced to move the location of the 2017 Fall Members Conference to a larger facility to accommodate the increased attendance.
“I’m really proud of the way our members and vendors alike have pulled together to achieve a period of extraordinary growth,” said Jon Robbins, Executive Director of Home Technology Specialists of America. “We have an amazing agenda planned for this Fall Conference with a nationally recognized Hall of Fame keynote speaker offering truly valuable information, as well as a series of presentations and classes to keep members at the forefront of the latest trends and methods. Even more exciting, members will have the opportunity for an exclusive sneak peek at upcoming Special Projects from our newest HTSA executive, Tom Doherty.”
Putting the Key in Keynote
HTSA conferences blend a mix of best practices sharing, team building exercises, in-depth education, and fun. Thanks to the group brain trust that includes some of the industry’s best and brightest dealers and integrators, the open information sharing is incredibly beneficial to all attendees.
Addressing the membership this year, in what is sure to be a memorable keynote presentation, is Connie Podesta, an award-winning author of 7 books and Hall of Fame speaker of national renown. Ms. Podesta has spoken before more than1,000 organizations and 2 million people. She helps visionary organizations defy conventional thinking and challenge the status quo so they can re-think “business as usual.”
Ms. Podesta will present fresh material customized for HTSA members on how to maximize client relationships, offering fresh data profiling Millennials and other client generations’ unique personality attributes. Members will learn actionable steps to better tailor their approach to clients to maximize the relationship.
Sneak Peek at Special Projects
HTSA recently announced the appointment of Tom Doherty as head of Special Projects, a new role at the organization. Although still new with the group, Doherty will present HTSA members with a sneak peek or overview of some of the projects on which he’s beginning to investigate. Doherty’s joining of the organization was met with great enthusiasm by the membership and this will be their first opportunity to meet with him as part of HTSA.
The Special Projects that Doherty is working on are expected to have a significant influence in the future growth trajectory of the group and members are waiting with great anticipation to learn more about these new areas of growth.
The Standardization of Custom…and New System Security Protocols
Another presentation sure to resonate with members will be a workshop presented by Richard Millson, founder of manufacturer Millson Custom Solutions – and also an integrator himself. Millson’s experience as both an manufacturer and an integrator gives him a unique perspective on the systems and processes needed for high-level execution, efficiency and profitability.
Millson will share with members techniques for setting standards for key business processes to ensure successful and profitable results.
The Fall Conference will also feature a follow-up presentation from internet security expert Rob Krug of Sonic Wall, who gave one of the most popular – and scary – presentations at the 2017 Spring Conference, with tales of the threat of hackers to our system installations. Krug’s presentation at the Spring event included a video of him demonstrating just how easy it is to hack a residential installation that truly shocked members.
Krug’s presentation for this conference will include steps members can take to fortify their installations and better protect their clients.
Surprises and Fun are On the Agenda
One thing the event managers haven’t forgotten is to include plenty of fun activities and networking opportunities. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet new members and share ideas at various breaks in the schedule.
Also, the event will include group dinners that bring everyone together for quality time and relationship building.
